The West End YMCA offers the Y-Guides and Y-Princesses program. These programs, among the oldest and popular ongoing programs in the United States, are for fathers and sons/daughters.
The goal of the Guides and Princesses is to develop a unique and lasting one on one relationship between parent and child. Dads and sons/daughters are placed into “tribes” with other dads, daughters and sons/daughters.
The programs are structured so that accomplishments are completed together. Tribes usually meet about every three weeks, rotating among the members homes. Each month all tribes have a chance to participate in a “nation” event that includes campouts, pinewood derby car races, kite flying, dances, Picnics parades, and special holiday events.
Families interested in joining the Y-Guides or Y-Princesses should contact YMCA staff person Jack Tillman at (909) 481-0722.
Financial Assistance:
Financial Assistance is available to assist families who qualify in managing the cost of program fees. Applications can be obtained from all West End YMCA branches.
